Kitty - A Frightened Little Feral

Kitty came to us, age around 14 weeks, a very frightened little kitten. She hissed and swiped out at anyone who went near her and we knew it would take some time for her to trust us. She spent the first few weeks in an open cupboard in our dining room and so we put her bed in there in the end so she could be comfortable. That  was the only place that she felt secure and so we all visited her there and she just came out to feed and use her litter tray. She then became known as” Kitty in the cupboard”.

Gradually she found another comfortable place on a dining chair and after some scratches and many hisses I managed to stoke her. Once my hand was on her she loved it and relaxed and eventually began to purr. Over the next few weeks with lots of patience and love she began to venture around the house and let other people stroke her.

We knew we had made major progress when she jumped onto the sofa and over just a few days climbed on my knee. She is now almost one year old and is a very happy loving cat. She loves to be near us and is very sociable. Kitty is loved by all of our family and we are so pleased we gave her the time to trust us. These feral cats with just patience and love make the most loyal and loving pets. They really are worth the extra time.
